How to Track Your Ballot in Oregon: Sent, Received, Accepted, Rejected?

Oregonians have cast 1.7 million ballots as of late Monday morning – 56% of the ballots mailed to registered voters in the state, according to the Oregon Secretary of State's Office. Millions more are expected to return their ballots before 8 p.m. on Election Day.

As a reminder, ballots must be cast or postmarked by 8:00 p.m. this evening, November 5th.

In the course of theBallot box arsons in Vancouver and Portland,Since one of them damaged hundreds of ballots, many voters want to check whether their ballot was accepted. Luckily, the process is pretty simple.

Ballot status will be updated as your ballot is received and processed.

But what do the voting status categories mean?

Sent

The ballot was marked as sent by the county, but has not yet been received by the election board.

Receive

A ballot paper received is in the possession of the election board, but the signature has not yet been verified by officials.

Accepted

Signature verification is complete and the voter's vote has been credited.

Rejection/challenge

This means the signature or ballot has been challenged. In this case, a county elections official will contact the voter.

Challenged ballots can still be accepted once the voter and an election official resolve the matter.
