Navy turned the ball over six times in the 51-14 loss to Notre Dame. To make matters even more annoying, five turnovers were fumbles, and most of them were the result of unforced errors. Quarterback Blake Horvath lost two of the fumbles, one of which led directly to an Irish touchdown.

Leading up to this game, there was talk that the Midshipmen could make a strong case to be the Group of Five representative in the College Football Playoff. That dream is now on life support, if not entirely dead, as it is almost impossible to get the committee back on side after such a defeat. That may not be fair given the conference the Midshipmen compete in, but it is the reality.

Now the question is whether the Midshipmen can finish the regular season successfully and pray that the circumstances still work out in their favor. However, that seems very unlikely.

Here's how some Midshipmen fans reacted on social media during and after that game:

Doug Dennis

We're sure it was you.

Austin Walker

Unless they are good.

Steven Ayala

It was actually a beating.

Adam Bennett

Only if you were a supporter of the Midshipmen.

Gary Lee

Let's not pretend that Horvath is innocent in all of this.
