How many points did Bronny James score in the Lakers' win against the Suns?

In the Los Angeles Lakers' second game of the season, they remained undefeated with a comeback win over the Phoenix Suns. They were badly behind at the start but found a way to recover and get the win at home.

Los Angeles used another strong game from star Anthony Davis to lead the attack, but it was a complete team effort. They defeated the Suns in the second half and picked up another win to start the season.

But once again, many eyes were on rookie guard Bronny James. However, James did not take the field in this game and was a decision by the DNP coach.

That's not particularly shocking considering the team planned for him to play most of his games in the G-League this season. Los Angeles allows the rookie to remain with the team during the upcoming road trip, but then sends him away.

The rookie's plan of attack was always about development. He's not ready to play full-time in the NBA yet, so the Lakers want to give him time to develop his game.

They've spent a lot of time this summer putting more emphasis on player development, and James is one of their top candidates. Lakers head coach JJ Redick previously said that James has a chance to become an influential player at the NBA level but needs time to hone his skills.

“As we prioritize player development, we see Bronny as case study one because his fundamental feel, athleticism, point-of-defense attack, shooting and passing have a lot to like about his game,” said Redick in July. “And as we expand our player development program holistically, he will have a great opportunity to become an outstanding NBA player.”

If the Lakers are patient and allow him to continue to develop, he could eventually develop into a decent role player. While his offensive game is still developing, James has shown strong instincts on the defensive side of the ball.

That's something teams can't teach, and the Lakers have a very good read on him despite his current limited depth.

It won't be easy for the newcomer and the expectations are extremely high because of his father. He will be given the chance to develop and it will be up to him to make the most of his opportunity in the team.
