Homebuyers can now find Zillow 3D Home Tours, interactive floor plans and photos on Realtor.com, according to a joint announcement from the portals on Tuesday.

Listing agents can create 3D home tours through the Zillow 3D Home Tour app. The app guides agents and photographers through capturing the best panoramic images with a smartphone or 360-degree camera and, once uploaded, stitches these photos together into an immersive tour of their home. Meanwhile, Zillow's interactive floor plan records 3D walk-throughs and photos on a blueprint, allowing homebuyers to better experience the shape and flow of their desired listing.

“At Zillow, we have long believed that buyers, sellers and agents benefit from richer, interactive listing content,” said Cynthia Taylor, vice president of products at Zillow, in a statement. “That's why we're making our Zillow 3D Home technology free to the industry and excited to partner with Realtor.com to share our 3D tours and interactive floor plans with more buyers. When buyers have more information, they can make better decisions. We think this is a good thing no matter where buyers are looking.”

Tuesday's announcement builds on a seven-month partnership between the competitors that began when Zillow agreed to syndicate listings for multifamily properties with 25 or more units to Realtor.com.

In a previous Inman article, Realtor.com CEO Damian Eales and Zillow Chairman Rich Barton said the partnership would be mutually beneficial as the portals look to expand their reach in the rental market, which is currently dominated by apartments. com, the up-and-coming residential real estate provider CoStar Group.

Angela Lu, vice president of corporate and business development at Realtor.com, said the partnership was a “win-win” for everyone as they aim to raise the bar on the home shopping experience for homebuyers and renters .

“At Realtor.com, we strive to continually improve the real estate search experience, and this relationship with Zillow raises the bar,” said Lu. “By seamlessly integrating Zillow's 3D Home Tour technology into the listings on our website, we are enabling agents to better showcase their sellers' properties while providing homebuyers a more comprehensive and informed way to explore homes – a win-win situation for everyone.”
