Heavy traffic is expected on Road 422, Egypt due to President Trump's visit

OAKS, PA – Heavy traffic is expected on Route 422, Egypt Road and the surrounding areas Monday afternoon and evening in connection with former President Donald Trump's event at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks.

Upper Providence Township Police said they will work with Upper Providence Fire and Rescue to ensure both event safety and traffic flow.

Officials also expect heavy traffic on Station Avenue.

Doors for the event will open at 2 p.m., so traffic is expected to increase around 1 p.m. It starts at 6pm and police expect it to end around 9pm, with particularly heavy traffic jams expected at this time.

No specific road closures have been announced yet, but they are imminent. Police said the closures were brief and expected to last 15 to 20 minutes.

“The safety of participants and our residents is always our top priority,” police said in a statement. “Please be patient, follow signs and all instructions from traffic personnel involved in this event.”

The event marks Trump's first appearance in the five-county suburban Philadelphia region this campaign cycle, although he was in Reading just last week.
