Harris campaigns in Pennsylvania; Trump enters town hall with only women in the audience: Live updates on the 2024 election

Kamala Harris agrees Trump's vision is about “fascism.”

Donald Trump will get a further boost in the campaign from tech billionaire Elon Musk, who has announced he will speak at a series of events on behalf of Republicans in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania.

Musk previously appeared with Trump on his return to Butler in the same state, the site of the first assassination attempt on his life earlier this summer.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris is preparing for an interview with Fox News' Bret Baier that will air Wednesday night.

On Tuesday, the Democrat joined Charlamagne Tha God for an hour-long meeting in Detroit where she declared she would win in November and agreed with the host when he called Trump's political program “fascist.”

Also on Tuesday, Trump took part in a casual Bloomberg Q&A session with the Economic Club of Chicago and said at a rally in Atlanta, Georgia, that he thinks illegal immigration is a bigger problem than inflation.

This morning, Fox News aired a Donald Trump town hall focused on female voters, moderated by Harris Faulkner, and recorded Tuesday to a friendly crowd of supporters.

Conservative anti-Trump group rips apart audience members at Fox News town hall

Judging by the ecstatic claps and cheers from the Fox News town hall audience, it doesn't seem like this is a cross-section of female voters allowing Donald Trump to repeat his arguments and falsehoods.

The conservative anti-Trump group The Lincoln Project tweeted: “Donald Trump can no longer even fill a room with people who aren't passionate loyalists.” The “fair and balanced” audience at his women's town hall today is all Trump- followers. The only thing these women are undecided about is whether he should be dictator for four years or for life.”

Trump reels off the usual town hall talking points focused on women

Regular readers of this blog will find Donald Trump's recorded answers to questions about issues of concern to female voters at the Fox News town hall yesterday strikingly familiar.

As journalist Aaron Rupar notes, “It's truly remarkable that he has three or four talking points that he loves, and he uses them again and again, no matter what question he's asked.”

Nor does Trump provide any information about the affordability crisis.

Abortion rights group sues after Florida orders TV stations to stop airing ads

A group advocating for an abortion rights measure in Florida sued state officials Wednesday over their order to television stations to stop airing an ad produced by the group Floridians Protecting Freedom.

The state Department of Health, which is part of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis' administration, earlier this month asked television stations to stop airing the commercial, saying it was false and dangerous and that continuing to run the commercial could lead to criminal charges.

Jack Smith responds to Trump's latest attempt to dismiss Jan. 6 lawsuit

That decision “did not invalidate” the section charging Trump or raise the basic standard of proof, and the defendant failed to identify any error in the evidence in the superseding indictment that warranted its dismissal, Smith writes .

“Furthermore, defendant's motion completely ignores that the case against him includes allegations that he and his co-conspirators attempted to create and use false evidence – fraudulent ballots – to obstruct the certification process,” the Supreme Court's ruling regards. “explicitly” says are protected by the section of the law Trump is charged with.
