Guitarist Jake E. Lee shot multiple times in a “random” attack

Jake E. Lee is recovering after being injured in a shooting in Las Vegas.

The rock guitarist, a member of Red Dragon Cartel who previously toured with Ozzy Osbourne and Ratt, was “shot multiple times in a shooting on a street in Las Vegas, Nevada early this morning,” his publicist said in a statement Tuesday opposite Weekly entertainment. “Lee is fully conscious and doing well and is in intensive care at a hospital in Las Vegas. He is expected to make a full recovery.”

The statement added: “Las Vegas authorities believe the shooting was completely random and occurred while Lee was walking his dog in the early morning hours. As the incident is currently under police investigation, no further comment will be made. “Lee and his family appreciate respecting their privacy at this time.”

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed to EW that officers responded to a shooting in the city around 2:42 a.m. and discovered a male victim with “apparent gunshot wounds.” Authorities declined to name the victim but confirmed he was taken to a local hospital.

LVMPD also noted that there have been no arrests in the case and said the investigation is ongoing.

Lee had his first professional success as a member of the glam metal band Ratt in the early 1980s, but left the group before they recorded their biggest single, “Round and Round.”

In 1983, he became Osbourne's lead guitarist and appeared on his third solo album. Bark at the moonto which Lee claimed to have done significant compositional work, but ultimately received no credit. On Osbourne's 1986 album The ultimate sinLee is credited as a songwriter on all but one of the tracks and played guitar on every song.
