Game updates, live scores in college football

The Texas Tech football team struggled for much of Saturday's game, but had the perfect drive to score the go-ahead touchdown with 20 seconds left to lift the Red Raiders to a 23-22 victory over 10th-ranked Iowa State to lead.

The Red Raiders (6-3, 4-2) trailed 22-17 with 2:11 left in the game when Behren Morton (237 yards, 2 TDs) and Tahj Brooks (122 yards, TD) orchestrated the game-winning drive . Brooks scored from five meters away.

The Cyclones suffered their first loss of the season.

Josh Kelly had eight catches for 127 yards and caught both of Morton's TD throws in the win.

6:04 p.m.: The Red Raiders are in first place at ISU 1, 34 seconds behind and 22:17.

5:52 p.m.: Tahj Brooks goes 16 yards to take us to a two-minute timeout. The Red Raiders have to cover 60 yards in 1:59.

5:48 p.m.: On 3rd-and-13 from the Tech 44, Becht finds Carson Brown, who runs about 30 yards for the touchdown. After the failed two-point attempt, the Cyclones lead 22-17 with 2:11 left.

5:44 p.m.: The Red Raiders again fail to win on a 3-and-out. Cyclones have 4:31 left and start the drive at their 35.

5:39 p.m.: Texas Tech's defense plays its best game possible. It holds Iowa State to a 50-yard field goal attempt and Konrardy's kick goes very, very, very right. Red Raiders lead 17-16 with 5:17 remaining.

5:30 p.m.: Texas Tech wanted to try on 4th-and-1 but called for a delay of game. The Red Raiders try and the pass is incomplete. Morton missed a wide-open Kelly as he scrambled around.

5:24 p.m.: CJ Baskerville almost gets the interception on 3rd and Iowa State settles for a field goal. The Red Raiders lead 17:16 with 12:23 left.

5:21 p.m.: Texas Tech takes its first timeout with 12:30 left and Iowa State faces 3rd-and-goal from the 3.

5:10 p.m.: Entering the fourth game, Texas Tech leads 17-13. Iowa State has 1st and 15th.

5:02 p.m.: The offensive is alive. Coy Eakin made a wild 25-yard catch on the ground and Morton hit Josh Kelly for a 19-yard touchdown. Texas Tech takes the lead 17-13 with 1:56 left in the third.

4:43 p.m.: Over in the football world, Texas Tech beat Baylor 2-1 on Wednesday to advance to the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament.

4:41 p.m.: Jacob Rodriguez passes and forces a fumble, which is recovered by Chapman Lewis. The Red Raiders have the ball on their own 14.

4:31 p.m.: The second half has begun.

4:10 p.m.: We've reached halftime. Iowa State leads 13-10 and will get the ball early in the third period.

4:08 p.m.: Rocco Becht blasts a strike over Bralyn Lux into the end zone and hits Jayden Higgins for a 20-yard touchdown with four seconds left. Cyclones lead 13-10.

4:05 p.m.: Morton throws his second interception of the half and tries to force another throw from Josh Kelly.

3:58 p.m.: Iowa State goes three-and-out and Tech will get another chance before halftime.

3:52 p.m.: Morton takes a shot downfield to a heavily covered Caleb Douglas and the pass is intercepted.

3:51 p.m.: Also, the Texas Tech football team leads Baylor 2-1 at halftime in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City.

3:50 p.m.: Texas Tech's defense has shown up so far, forcing another 3-and-out and a punt. Tech ball with 2:34 remaining in the half.

3:47 p.m.: The Red Raiders don't do anything about it. Morton throws two incompletions and is sacked for the third time today. Iowa State ball on its own 15th.

3:45 p.m.: Pressure from Ben Roberts leads to an interception of Rocco Becht by AJ McCarty. Red Raiders take power in ISU territory.

3:37 p.m.: The Red Raiders go three-and-out and put the ball away. With 7:30 minutes left, the Cyclones are at their own 15.

3:31 p.m.: Texas Tech's defense holds again and Iowa State scores a 37-yard field goal. The Red Raiders lead 10-6 and are in second place with 9:25 left.

3:29 p.m.: Tech plays at Jack Trice Stadium due to turf issues. Maurion Horn slipped in pursuit, resulting in a 28-yard gain on 3rd-and-7.

3:23 p.m.: Tech goes back with two sacks for a total of 15 yards and a false start. The Red Raiders beat it away. Two consecutive drives without a touchdown for Tahj Brooks. Iowa State ball on its own 44.

3:20 p.m.: Iowa State gets 15 on 3rd down, tries, but 4th down pass is incomplete. The technology takes over at its own discretion.

3:15 p.m.: End 1, Texas Tech leads 10-3. Iowa State faces a 3rd-and-17 from the Tech 39.

3:05 p.m.: Tech has to settle for the FG from 44 yards after the PI call and Gino Garcia. 10-7 Red Raiders with 3:51 remaining in first.

3:03 p.m.: Coy Eakin catches a touchdown, but he is called for offensive pass interference.

3:00 p.m.: Texas Tech continues to use Josh Kelly, having more of a vertical threat than a horizontal one, and it pays off with a 17-yard gain followed by another 12 yards. Kelly already at 64 yards.

2:55 p.m.: Texas Tech holds, but Kyle Konrardy hits a 49-yard field goal. The Red Raiders lead 7-3 with 8:33 left.

2:44 p.m.: Josh Kelly is all alone after an Iowa State defender slips and he's expecting a 35-yard TD catch from Morton. The Red Raiders struck early and led 7-0 with 12:16 left in the 1st quarter.

2:44 p.m.: Tahj Brooks surpassed his career rushing yard total of 4,000 yards on this first drive.

2:40 p.m.: Texas Tech receives the opening kickoff.

2:39 p.m.: ESPN reports that Behren Morton missed the second half of the TCU game last week because halftime X-rays “incorrectly” showed a broken collarbone. Morton is ready to go today.
