Exactly three weeks before Election Day, former President Donald Trump plans to return to Chicago on Tuesday morning for a downtown event with Bloomberg News and the Economic Club of Chicago.

It's the second time Trump has campaigned in Chicago this year, following a controversial visit in July in which Trump questioned Vice President Kamala Harris' racial identity at the National Association of Black Journalists conference.

That abbreviated event was filled with controversial comments from the former president, including claims that illegal immigrants are taking “black jobs” and accusations that ABC News' Rachel Scott opened with “a very nasty question.”

Asked whether it was appropriate to call Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris a “DEI employee,” Trump accused the vice president of “only promoting Indian heritage.”

“I didn’t know she was black until she happened to be black a few years ago and now she wants to be known as black,” Trump said.
“So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she black?”

This time, Trump will be interviewed by Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait in front of members of the Economic Club of Chicago and their guests at a hotel in downtown Chicago.

The 11 a.m. event will be streamed live on the Economic Club of Chicago's YouTube page and Bloomberg News platforms.

Trump held rallies in Aurora, Colorado, on Friday and in Coachella, California, on Saturday. And he plans to hold a rally in New York's Madison Square Garden at the end of October – on the occasion of unconventional late campaign visits to Democratic strongholds. The goal is to attract significant media attention and recruit donors and supporters in rural counties in blue states.

The former president stayed at the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago on October 10 before his rally in Colorado. He also remained in Chicago on September 27 following a rally in Michigan and ahead of a campaign event in Wisconsin.
