Former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee was shot multiple times in Las Vegas

The post Ozzy Osbourne's former guitarist Jake E. Lee was shot multiple times in Las Vegas appeared first on Consequence.

Jake E. Lee, Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist in the 1980s, was shot multiple times in a street shootout early Tuesday morning (October 15) in Las Vegas, his management confirmed. He is in intensive care but is expected to make a full recovery.

A full statement from Lee's publicist reads:

“As confirmed by management, legendary rock guitarist Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands, Red Dragon Cartel) was shot multiple times in a shooting on a street in Las Vegas, Nevada this morning. Lee is fully conscious and doing well in the intensive care unit of a Las Vegas hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Las Vegas authorities believe the shooting was completely random and occurred while Lee was walking his dog in the early morning hours. As the incident is the subject of a police investigation, no further comment will be made. Lee and his family appreciate respecting their privacy during this time.”

Lee was a member of Ozzy Osbourne's solo band from 1982 to 1987 and appeared on their albums Bark at the moon (1983) and The ultimate sin (1986). He is also known for his work in the late '80s and early '90s metal band Badlands and his most recent group Red Dragon Cartel.

After retiring from music in recent years, Lee, 67, recently performed Tone conversation Podcast that provides an update on his health. He had thought he suffered from carpal tunnel syndrome, which prevented him from playing guitar. But as it turns out, it wasn't carpal tunnel.

“I thought I had carpal tunnel,” Lee said (as transcribed by Blabbermouth). “I went to a neurologist and they poked me with needles and then gave me an electric shock. They said I had carpal tunnel. Then I made an appointment with a wrist surgeon, which took a while. I went there. She asked to look at some x-rays, which no one had ever done before. She said, “Well, before we talk about surgery…” She took x-rays, came back and said, “You don't have carpal tunnel.” You don't. If someone had taken an x-ray of your wrist, they would have found that you don't have carpal tunnel.'”

He continued, “Apparently I have no cartilage left in my right hand.” She said I have very little in (my left hand), but (my left hand) doesn't bother me. So it's all bones on bones rubbing against each other and that causes excitement. At the moment I'm getting cortisone injections in the wrist – which is a lot of fun – and physiotherapy to strengthen the muscles around the wrist, doing a lot of stretching exercises. Now it’s about pain management.”

We wish Jake E. Lee a speedy recovery from the shooting. Watch his performance on Tone conversation below.
