LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Widespread freeze warnings and freeze warnings were issued for central and western areas Saturday. These watches have been upgraded to freeze warnings and the warnings are now expanded to cover almost the entire state.

Let's get straight to the point. Freeze warnings are in effect for most of Nebraska. Frost warnings are now in effect for southeast Nebraska and Hitchcock County. Regardless of where you live, all outdoor plants should be brought indoors this evening as low temperatures in the mid-20s to mid-30s will harm them.

Lows tonight could be between 25 and 36 degrees, with the warmest areas in the southwest and southeast.

Highs to start the work week could actually be around 80 degrees in far western Nebraska, where winds will be from the south. Further east, high pressure will cause winds to be weaker and changing direction, resulting in low to mid 60s.

Tuesday will be our coolest day of the week, with highs currently barely reaching 60 degrees, but it will only get warmer from there. Temperatures are expected to be around 80 degrees on Thursday and Friday. We are also monitoring the chance of rain for the coming weekend, with late Friday evening into Saturday afternoon offering the best chance of precipitation.
