MYRTLE BEACH – The noise sounded like the crackling of a speaker.

Late on the morning of November 1st, Dennis Blair had been at his Coldwater Circle home with his daughter, watching videos of their evening in Murrells Inlet. As Blair let her dog out, he heard a static noise. Thinking it might be the video, he asked his daughter to turn down the volume. The noise continued.

“I came outside and that was the first sound of 'This is the FBI,'” he said.

Blair said the FBI then announced they would execute a search warrant at the home of his neighbor, Myrtle Beach pastor John-Paul “JP” Miller.

Miller's home was subject to a court-authorized search on Nov. 1, confirmed Kevin Wheeler, spokesman for the FBI's Columbia office. He declined to comment on the reason for the search or whether anything was recovered from the home.

Throughout the afternoon, men in FBI windbreakers and shirts could be seen walking through Miller's garage. At least one wore a T-shirt that read “FBI Evidence Response Team.” This unit processes crime scenes.

Russell Long, one of Miller's attorneys, said he had no details about the search, adding that the FBI was “fishing.”

“There was no affidavit attached to the search warrant; so I have no idea what he’s referring to,” Long said.

After the FBI completed its search, Long said he hoped “that's the end of it,” referring to any investigation into his client.

Miller, the pastor of Solid Rock At Market Common, rose to fame after his wife Mica's body was found in a state park in North Carolina. Mica died on April 27, two days after serving her husband with divorce papers.
