Fans are reminded to join the team and wear white for “Winter Warning” on Sunday.

There will be whiteout conditions at Lambeau Field this Sunday, and Green Bay Packers players and fans are ready Unite and wear white for the first-ever “Winter Warning” game presented by American Family Insurance.

Fans and game-goers are reminded to wear white to create a blizzard-like effect in the stadium. The atmosphere in the stands will complement the team's new on-field appearance, which includes the introduction of the players' much-anticipated replacement white helmets. The all-new helmets include a solid white face mask and white shell with the traditional dark green Packers G logo on the sides and dark green stripes down the middle. The white helmets are combined with the team's fan-favorite combination of white away jerseys, white shorts and plain white socks.

To encourage fans to get involved and turn Lambeau Field into a whiteout, the Packers Pro Shop has launched a brand new line of accompanying merchandise. The Winter Warning Collection is now available both in-store and online at packersproshop.com. The collection includes white shirts, hats, caps and outerwear, as well as white drinkware, novelty items and wall art, as well as replicas of the helmets the players will wear.

Fans attending the game will also receive a white winter warning scarf from American Family Insurance upon entering the stadium to add to the blizzard-like atmosphere. To learn more about the winter warning, please visit packers.com/winterwarning.

White uniforms and helmets have been worn several times throughout the Packers' history. The team first experimented with white as an alternate jersey color in 1938 and several times in the 1940s and 1950s before finally adopting it as the standard away jersey color in the 1960s. White helmets were also in use throughout the 1950s and made their debut in the 1956 home opener against Detroit, when the Packers wore dark green jerseys with white trim, green socks, white pants and white helmets with a single green stripe down the middle. The same uniforms and white helmets returned throughout the 1958 season – although it was not a successful season for the Packers, nine players from that team's starting lineup were later inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
