F1 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix LIVE: Today's race start time, stream and grid as Norris starts from pole

Lewis Hamilton playfully interrupts F1 boss's interview as weather postpones qualifying

Lando Norris' bid to win his first Formula One world championship received a huge boost at Interlagos after he took a brilliant pole position at the Brazilian Grand Prix, while his rival Max Verstappen finished a surprise 17th.

Verstappen was eliminated on Sunday morning in a chaotic, rainy qualifying session that continued a day after the race was canceled on Saturday due to bad weather.

The three-time world champion was on track to improve his time in wet conditions, but Lance Stroll's crash resulted in the third of an astonishing five red flags and Q2 did not continue.

That left a furious Verstappen in 12th place, and with the Dutchman having to serve a five-place engine penalty, he will be well behind for the 71-lap race later on Sunday.
