Entergy employees recognized for donating more than 0,000 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Entergy was recognized this year as one of the Top 25 Employers for Workplace Giving St. Jude Children's Research Hospitaland donated more than $230,000 through employee payroll contributions across all service areas of the company. The recognition was announced at the company's Northern Regional staff meeting on August 29, 2024. Each year, Entergy employees actively participate in United Way campaigns to raise funds for their communities. To further amplify the impact of these donations, the company's shareholders match employee donations dollar for dollar.

Entergy executives and employees met with executives at a special check presentation ALSACHthe fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude, where she presented the check for the total amount of employee donations to St. Jude in 2023 in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas – where Entergy employees live and work.

“Thanks to partners like Entergy and the generosity of its employees, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital can continue to be a global leader in understanding, treating and defeating childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases,” he said Richard C. Shadyac Jr.President and CEO of ALSAC. “St. Jude is grateful for every generous donation provided through programs such as Payroll Contributions. These simple acts of kindness have a huge impact on the future of research and treatment for children with cancer in the United States and around the world.”

When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was largely considered incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped increase the overall survival rate from 20% to over 80% today. With Entergy's support, St. Jude can continue to provide children with state-of-the-art treatments not covered by insurance, at no cost to families.
