Elon Musk declared victory for Donald Trump as he gained an early lead over Kamala Harris.

“Game, set, win,” said the Tesla and SpaceX boss on Tuesday evening on his social network X, formerly known as Twitter.

“America is a nation of builders. Soon you will be free to build,” he added.

Musk has donated more than $130 million to Trump and other Republicans during this election, although that's a drop in the bucket compared to his estimated net worth of nearly $265 million – making him the richest person in the world .

As a major government contractor, he stands to benefit greatly from a Trump presidency, and Trump himself has floated the idea of ​​appointing Musk to a federal advisory commission.

“At the suggestion of Elon Musk,” the former president said he would form a “Government Efficiency Commission” that would conduct “a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government.”

“I think we can save at least $2 trillion,” Musk said at Trump’s flagship rally at Madison Square Garden on October 27. He had previously said a Trump victory would “create an opportunity to engage in some sort of one-time, lifelong deregulation and downsizing of government.”

Six of seven swing states remained uncalled Tuesday night after Musk left his post, but early voting data suggests there had been a major swing toward Donald Trump across the country.
