Ed Westwick is going to be a father.

The gossip Girl The 37-year-old alum is expecting his first child with his wife, actress Amy Jackson, 32, two months after the couple tied the knot in Italy in late August.

Westwick and Jackson announced the news in a joint post on Instagram, sharing pictures of the expectant mother in a dress that accentuated her growing bump.

In August, Westwick and Jackson spoke to PEOPLE after tying the knot on the Amalfi Coast and said they were looking forward to married life and having more adventures together.

“For me (marrying Westwick) means having a life partner with whom I can experience adventures, share love and support, raise a beautiful family and have each other’s back in all moments of life,” Jackson said.

“It’s about building a future together and creating endless memories, knowing that we are a team through it all.”

“It all represents a new level of energy for a new adventure – the best thing you can ever have,” Westwick said, adding of his new wife: “I've thought about who she would be all my life, and then I found her.”

The couple also shared that they hoped to expand “their little family” at some point in the future and give Jackson's 4-year-old son Andreas a younger sibling.

“I love how Ed treats my son Andreas and I can't wait to see him as a father one day,” Jackson said at the time.
