Early voter turnout topped four million, more than half of the state's registered voters

The North Carolina State Board of Elections has announced that early voting in North Carolina has reached a record number of voters.

As of Friday, November 1st, more than 3,798,000 voters cast their ballots in person during early voting, which began on October 17th.

Early voting ends Saturday in North Carolina, with over 3.8 million voting

According to the North Carolina State Board of Elections, the total number of early voters in 2024 exceeds the previous record of 3,629,000 in-person early voters in 2020.

The State Board of Elections also reports that 65 percent of voters in 2020 took advantage of the early voting period to cast their ballot.

The State Board of Elections reported two additional milestones achieved during early voting, including that the total number of voters for the 2024 election has now exceeded four million, representing voter turnout of more than half, or 51.2%, of those registered Voters of the state corresponds to .

In Henderson County alone, 900 people cast their votes at one polling station, Fletcher Town Hall, on October 31st.
