Dwayne Wade's new statue is one of the worst in sports. Here are a few others

On Sunday, the Miami Heat unveiled a long-awaited statue of Dwayne Wade outside the Kaseya Center.

The artwork is intended to honor Wade's time with the franchise and celebrate one of the greatest players to ever grace the field.

Instead, the unveiling sparked several jokes on social media about the statue's appearance and why it looks nothing like Wade.

Once we finished laughing at some of the jokes, we got to thinking: What are the worst sports statues of all time?

Cristiano Ronaldo

Considered possibly the worst statue or bust of all time. This work was so bad it had to be recreated, and for a player like Cristiano Ronaldo it's still not quite up to par.

The original bust had a sinister smile and was a brilliant gold color. This work is definitely more subdued. But it looks more like an ancient European role model than a world-class soccer player.

It is difficult to say whether this is a generational tennis player or an ancient warrior. Why is the statue wearing armor? Why is he holding the tennis racket like a sword?

Why is he frowning? There are so many questions about this work of art.

Wayne Gretzky

The “Big One” has a very modest looking statue. Representing such a widely respected and iconic player, this seems unimaginative and lazy at best.

Gretzky is considered the greatest ice hockey player of all time. But to someone who didn't know any better, this statue looks like your average Stanley Cup winner. He deserves better.

Harry Caray

It's fitting that this story comes out during Halloween week. This statue gives me goosebumps. The children, people, ghouls below and the outstretched arms seem strange to me.

Sometimes they stick a jersey on the statue, but even that doesn't quite convey how scary this statue is.

Dwayne Wade

Yes, for sure this is one of the worst statues ever. It doesn't look like him and doesn't really represent what he meant to the franchise.

The statue of Michael Jordan shows him flying through the air. Shaquille O'Neal's achievement is that he brings home a slam dunk. Wade is a random person pointing down. Good in theory, terrible in implementation.
