Dry and windy weekend, warm Halloween – Boston news, weather, sports

A mix of sun and clouds will start the weekend as the breeze increases from west to northwest, gusting to 20 to 30 mph during the late morning and early afternoon today. Low relative humidity, gusty winds and dry leaves/vegetation have created the mix of ingredients needed for bushfires to easily start and spread. For this reason, there is a warning warning and it is not recommended to burn outdoors. Today's highs will be in the low to mid 60s.

Leaving tonight? Once the sun sets, temperatures will fall quickly, falling back to around 40°C by midnight and a widespread 30°C tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow will be bright, somewhat windy and cool with highs in the lower to mid 50s. Monday's highs will be even cooler and it will be difficult to get much above 50.

While we'll be back in the upper 50s on Tuesday, the big warm-up will last through Wednesday. It will be a warm front moving through Tuesday night, with a few spotty showers bringing warmth on the other side Wednesday.

High temperatures will be in the lower 70s on Wednesday and upper 70s on Halloween. If Boston's 77° forecast for Halloween is confirmed, it will be the second warmest weather or record, behind only the 81° recorded in 1946.
