Doug Gottlieb sweats in his coaching debut, returning to Stillwater against Oklahoma State

Gallagher-Iba Arena was the site of a special inaugural college basketball game for several reasons. Oklahoma State A new era began under head coach Steve Lutzhoping to get back on the right path. Lutz's opponent also made his debut on Monday, with Doug Gottlieb coaching in his first-ever game Green Bay.

Gottlieb is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and led the Cowboys to the Elite Eight during his playing days. Winning in Stillwater would be a special moment, but the stress is already mounting. Photos of Gottlieb sweating through his suit have surfaced and gone viral on social media.

Not many college basketball coaches wear suits anymore, but sweating in them is nothing new. It will happen to the best out there when they decide to ditch the tracksuit look.

Gottlieb probably doesn't think much about what he looks like right now. Trailing Oklahoma State by just one point at halftime, Green Bay has the opportunity to pull off an incredible upset.

Once we're back in the locker room, Gottlieb will definitely be in for a few texts and possibly a few laughs.

Green Bay hires Doug Gottlieb as head coach

Gottlieb was hired by Green Bay this offseason, which was an unusual move. He has previously worked in the media and continues to do so today. His radio show on FOX Sports aired live from Eskimo Joe's in Stillwater before the game.

But when Green Bay called to give him a head coaching job, it was too good to pass up.

“It is a tremendous honor to be named the 10th men’s basketball coach in UWGB history. I want to thank Chancellor Mike Alexander and Josh Moon for this incredible opportunity,” Gottlieb said in a statement following his hiring. “Every kid has a dream when they grow up, some want to be a firefighter, some want to be president, I always wanted to be a Division I head basketball coach.”

Green Bay is a member of the Horizon League and was projected to finish at No. 8 in the preseason media poll.
