The Khalistani separatist said since it was the “40th “It is the anniversary of the Sikh genocide, there could be an attack on an Air India flight.”

Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has threatened international passengers from boarding Air India flights ahead of the 40th anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Pannun, the founder of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), warned that after November 19, “an attack on an Air India flight could take place.”

Pannun, who has dual citizenship of the United States and Canada, has been classified as a terrorist by the Interior Ministry since July 2020 for sedition and secessionism. “Don’t fly with Air India. …We request the Sikh “Panth” not to fly via Air India. From November 19th there will be a worldwide blockade. Air India is not allowed to fly. Sikh 'Panth', do not travel with Air India after November 19,” said the SFJ founder.

Pannun, who has also been booked by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in several cases, is known for insulting the Indian flag and has even threatened Indian diplomats on several occasions. He made a similar threat around the same time last year. According to sources, Pannun is misusing his access in Britain and Canada to spread anti-India propaganda.

On Friday, senior intelligence sources told CNN-News18 that Pannun is running an immigration scam and that Pakistan's spy agency ISI is also in touch with him given his strategy. “At first he continued to deny his connection with them, but later came out openly in London at the Pakistan High Commission's Kashmir Day event,” a source said. “His idea is to incite the post-1984 youth of Punjab against India and the atrocities against the Sikh community.”

According to the sources, Pannun receives funds from ISI, some funds from innocent youth and some donations in the name of the war. He has turned many gurdwaras in the UK, US and Canada into breeding grounds for anti-India sentiments.
