Dolphins star Jaylen Waddle leaves game with horrific injury

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle left the game after suffering what appeared to be a scary ankle injury. After one play, Waddle was stepped on the ankle by a Buffalo Bills defender.

The young receiver immediately collapsed to the ground, clutching the affected ankle. He appeared to be in clear pain and also removed his helmet, suggesting the injury could be serious.

Miami Herald reporter Omar Kelly pointed out that Waddle hit his hand on the turf, meaning it could be a scary injury.

Waddle was shown on camera leaving the pitch at full speed despite not being in the game and sitting on the bench.

Waddle was able to return to the game, which could mean he sustained nothing other than an ankle injury after being stepped on. At the time of writing, Waddle also secured his first touchdown pass of the game.

Waddle left the game appearing to be in a lot of pain, but it was also reported that he did not enter the blue medical tent. He probably got a good taping job on the ankle in question on the sideline and was able to return to the game.

The Dolphins are currently fighting for their playoff life against the Bills. Miami is currently 2-5 on the season, and a loss on Sunday would drop them to 2-6, which would essentially put them in a vital situation with their playoff hopes.

Miami lost Tua Tagovailoa after Week 2 and their offensive attack took a massive hit without their starting quarterback in the lineup. Tagovailoa missed several games as he suffered his third reported concussion in the pros.

The Dolphins decided to place Tagovailoa on injured reserve and suspend him for four games. He was shut down to speak to outside neurologists about his playing future.

Tagovailoa has since returned and has had solid performances in two games. The problem is that the team hasn't gotten over its loss yet and lost another game in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Dolphins will be in trouble if they lose to the Bills on Sunday, as they would essentially have to win most of their remaining games if they were to try to make the postseason. As it stands now, the once great team in 2023 was one of the worst in 2024.
