Diwali 2024 Date: No More Confusion – When Should Lakshmi Puja Be Performed, October 31st or November 1st?

As we all know, Diwali, the festival of lights and happiness, is around the corner and almost all the people in this country and those living outside the country are preparing to celebrate the festival with great joy and enthusiasm. According to Hindu calendar and Panchang, Deepawali is celebrated on Amavasya Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik. The festival has great significance in the Hindu religion and Diwali is celebrated this year October 31, 2024.
Are you confused about Diwali date?
According to our Hindu scriptures, Diwali was first celebrated on the new moon night or Amavasya Tithi when Lord Rama returned to the city of Ayodhya. At that time there were no lights and it was also Amavasya so there was no moonlight either so the people of Ayodhya decorated the city of Ayodhya and illuminated all the streets and paths by lighting diyas with oil to worship the King of Ayodhya Lord Shri Ram, welcome. This is how they celebrated the victory of Lord Ram over the demon king Ravana.
Is Diwali or Laxmi Puja on October 31 or November 1, 2024?
Let's come to the fact that according to Panchang, Amavasya Tithi begins on October 31, 2024 at 3:55 pm and Amavasya Tithi ends on November 1, 2024 at 6:18 pm.
As per the schedule, Amavasya Tithi falls on October 31, 2024, so the festival should be celebrated on the night of new moon or Amavasya. Laxmi Puja has to be performed on the day of Amavasya Tithi which is celebrated on October 31, 2024.
Now there is no need to confuse yourself with the celebration of Diwali as people should ideally celebrate Deepawali on Kartik Amavasya which will fall tomorrow.
Deepawali is the festival that is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor and there is no festival without family members. So this year celebrate Diwali with your loved ones and friends and create beautiful memories with them.
Happy Diwali to everyone..!!
