Denver Nuggets face Toronto Raptors

It looks like the Denver Nuggets are starting to gain momentum. After back-to-back overtime wins, the Nuggets narrowly missed upsetting the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road before returning to Denver and unceremoniously edging out the hapless Utah Jazz. Tonight the Nuggets will look to start a winning streak by defeating one of the two teams they beat in overtime last week: the Toronto Raptors.

The essentials

How to watch/listen: Denver Stiffs doesn't tolerate piracy…unless it's the romanticized 17th century kind. Altitude TV, if available, NBA League Pass, if not available in the Nuggets market. The three things

What you should pay attention to: rotation

The Nuggets will be without Jamal Murray again tonight because he still has a concussion. Against the Jazz, Michael Malone eschewed the idea of playing a traditional backup point guard in favor of more of a play-by-committee approach, filling available minutes with another second-year winger, Hunter Tyson. The bench looked a bit lost in the first half of Saturday's game. Will Malone continue down this path or will one of the young point guards sitting on the deep bench, like Trey Alexander or Jalen Pickett, get a chance? If Malone returns to the PG rotation with no backup, it will be interesting to see if Tyson can build on a solid performance against Utah.

Here's what you should remember: These guys almost got you

Last week, the Nuggets needed a pretty impressive comeback to get the win against Toronto. Trailing by ten points with just over two minutes to play, Denver was able to secure a win. Part of what helped them was not having to deal with Scottie Barnes down the stretch, who had to leave the game with an eye socket injury and has been out ever since. He will also be out tonight, but that doesn't mean Denver can discount this team. Yes, the Raptors are a lottery contender for the Cooper-Flagg sweepstakes, but hopefully the memory of nearly losing to this team is still fresh in the Nuggets' minds and prevents them from falling into a trap game scenario.

What to bet on: Aaron Gordon over 6.5 rebounds (+110)

The Raptors basically play Jacob Poetl with four wings. Poetl will have his hands full all night keeping Nikola Jokic off the glass, which should give Gordon plenty of opportunity to pile up the boards. Last week, AG grabbed 11 rebounds against the Raptors. Getting seven doesn't seem like too much to ask and since the odds are positive, it's a good bet for me.
