Dancing with the Stars Live Results: Updated results for Ilona Maher, Danny Amendola and more from 2024 DWTS Episode 7

This year's “Dancing with the Stars” athletes scored big for their “Disney Night” performances last Tuesday.

Former Patriots receiver Danny Amendola earned the night's highest score – for the second year in a row – when he danced a jazz number to NSYNC's iconic 2000 hit “Bye Bye Bye,” featured in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” during the Olympics (2024) featured gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, who hit rock bottom with a 24.

Additionally, Episode 6 marked the return of team dances and individual dances. All participants and their partners were divided into two groups that competed for extra points. Captains for each team are usually determined by the two dancers with the lowest scores from the previous week – in this case it was Howard and Maher.

After pairing up, each group performed a unique number to a different Disney piece. The judges then scored the dances, with each star receiving the same score, which was combined with their individual ratings from the evening.

This Tuesday's theme is “Halloween Nightmares,” in the spirit of Thursday's holiday when couples dance in tune with their worst fears. Amendola will perform an Argentine tango to RAVN's “Poison,” based on his phobia of snakes, and Maher will also dance a tango to Miley Cyrus' “Psycho Killer,” based on her nightmare about, well… psycho killers.

Nedoroscik and Howard will explore pieces in a contemporary style. The gymnast will dance to “I Ran (So Far Away)” by Hidden Citizens, based on his fear of the dark, followed by Howard’s boogeyman boogie to “Ring Around The Rosie” by District 78.

Here's everything you need to know about 2024 Dancing with the Stars Episode 7, including updated scores for Maher, Amendola and more.

Who was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars?

  • Episode 2: Anna Delvey and Tori Spelling
  • Episode 4: Reginald VelJohnson and Eric Roberts
  • Episode 5: Brooks Nader
  • Episode 6: Phaedra Parks
  • Episode 7: Still open

Phaedra Parks was the dancer on the chopping block last Tuesday and saw her dreams of DWTS fame turn to ash after being voted out.

How does the “Dancing with the Stars” rating work?

The show's scoring is divided into two categories: jury and audience. During the episode, the three judges each give the dancers a score from 1 to 10.

This season, Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli return as judges. Before the audience votes, the judges award the dancers a maximum of 30 points. There are a few appearances by guest judges whose votes are also below 10. If there is a guest judge, the maximum score increases to 40.

This is where the scoring can get confusing. The point is not exactly the number of points a dance receives, but rather how this number affects the total number of votes cast by the jury. Let's say the judges award 100 points throughout the round. Dancer A receives 10 and Dancer B receives 20. Before the audience votes are counted, Dancer A receives 10 percent of the judge's votes and Dancer B receives 20 percent.

Let's say Dancer A received 35 percent of the public vote while Dancer B only received 5 percent. Dancer A's final result would be 45 percent of the votes and Dancer B would have received 40 percent. In this example, Dancer A would move on and Dancer B would be eliminated.

The score is the percentage of votes from the jury added to the percentage of votes from the audience to get an overall score.

How to vote for Dancing with the Stars

You can cast your vote for your favorite dancers either via ABC's website or via text message. During the broadcast, a number will appear on the screen and you can send the dancer's first name to that number to cast a vote.

Typically, you are limited to casting up to five votes or the number of remaining participants, whichever is greater. This year you will receive 10 votes per participant per voting method.

Voting will only take place live during the original DTWS broadcast in the ET/CT time slot.
