Dana White and Mark Zuckerberg discuss fixes to the UFC rankings system

Dana White recently reached out to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for help improving the UFC rankings system, possibly using artificial intelligence.

The UFC boss confirmed his discussions with the Meta CEO during an interview on Thursday with TNT Sports.

“I could go on and on, but I won’t,” White said. “We literally had meetings this week to work on it. I actually talked to Mark Zuckerberg about AI too, so yeah. I will completely correct the rankings. We will take many strong steps here by 2025.”

White previously expressed frustration with the current rankings, which are voted on by a group of media outlets selected by the UFC, a system that has been in place since 2013.

“I just can’t deal with incompetence,” White said earlier this month. “I just can't take it anymore. It's driving me crazy. I can no longer allow people who I don't think know what they're talking about to worry about the rankings. I just can’t do it anymore.” I have to find a solution.

According to MMA Junkie, recent complaints included Max Holloway being ranked behind Justin Gaethje and Renato Moicano's ranking remaining unchanged following his win over Benoît Saint Denis in September.
