GREEN BAY, Wis. – Weather conditions at Lambeau Field were cool, windy and wet, but the Detroit Lions still came away victorious in their first outdoor game of the season on Sunday.

The 24-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers gave the Lions three straight road wins over their NFC North rivals, the first such streak since Detroit won four straight at Lambeau Field from 1986-91.

According to Elias, the Lions had played their first seven games of the season indoors, joining the 1998 New Orleans Saints as the only teams in NFL history to do so. But the change in environment in Sunday's eighth game ultimately didn't matter.

According to head coach Dan Campbell, the Lions are “built to win” in any conditions.

“I know that, I'm not shocked at all that we came here and played some pretty good football in the elements,” Campbell said. “We were created for this. And it doesn't matter, and just because we're playing indoors it doesn't matter. We can play anywhere. We can play in the snow. We can play in the rain, play in the mud.”, that’s just us. We are designed to win.

Detroit still has two road games left in this regular season. The Lions face the Bears in Chicago in Week 16, then play the 49ers in San Francisco in Week 17. The team is confident that they can compete with any team in the league at this point.

“We’re supposed to be the dome team that can’t play outside. We're supposed to be the team that can only win one way, and I think we've shown a few times that we can win multiple ways,” said Lions quarterback Jared Goff, who had 145 pass yards and a touchdown 18 of 22 scored. “We are chameleons and whatever it takes to win, in whatever way, we will do.”

The Lions were dominant on both sides of the ball as the defense allowed its only touchdown with 3:49 left on a 2-yard run by Emanuel Wilson and safety Kerby Joseph made the first pick-six of his NFL career with 32 seconds left scored left the game before halftime, giving the Lions a 17-3 lead. Although Detroit's offense was outscored 411-261 by the Packers, the Lions still controlled the game with zero turnovers and a strong ground attack.

Running back duo David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs combined for 138 rushing yards and a touchdown to help Detroit improve to 7-1 for the first time since 1956.

“We know we’re killers, man. Killer, kill. That’s what we do,” Lions cornerback Amik Robertson said. “But we have to keep stacking them.”

Although Detroit is capable of winning under new circumstances like this week's inclement weather, Campbell still urges the team to continue cleaning up other areas where it can improve before next week's “Sunday Night Football.” game against Houston.

“There were a number of things we talked about: superiority in the run game, we talked about explosives, as crazy as that sounds in this weather, but whoever could come up with the most explosives, field position, turnover percentage,” Campbell said. “The fact that we took care of the football. We've been preaching it all week. We worked on it. Wetball drills every day when training outside.”

“Our guys did a really great job. Goff took great care of the football and that was the difference. It was a big difference.”

Lions All-Pro receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who entered the stadium before Sunday's game wearing a black hoodie that read “Green Bay Sucks,” caught seven passes for 56 yards and a touchdown and was the first wide receiver in at least 30 years to catch 30 consecutive targets in 19 seasons. He caught 30 consecutive passes with Goff, who also became the first quarterback in NFL history to complete 80% of passes over a six-game stretch (at least 100 attempts), according to ESPN Research.

Goff said this was “probably” the best stretch of his career as this win seemingly put the Lions in the driver's seat in the NFC, but they were far from satisfied.

“Every game is its own battle and its own journey and I think we’ve gotten really good at washing it away. Even if it’s a loss,” Goff said. “Quickly rinse away and move on to the next game.”

“So now it's going to be about winning and then tomorrow you have to wash up this game and move on to Houston. Sunday night, with them,” he continued. “It's going to be intense. Our fourth away game from the last five. We’ve kind of proven that we’re made for this.”
