Dan Campbell gives a scary speech to the Lions after beating up the Cowboys

Move over Dallas, there's a new America's Team and it's the Motor City Kitties.

After beating the Cowboys 47-9 and using offensive and defensive linemen as wide receivers and ball carriers for fun, Detroit head coach Dan Campbell gave one of those locker room speeches that steals the hearts and minds of Americans who want to root for a great story.

“This is the closest this group has ever been. We found something special last year, men. I felt what it was like before that game,” Campbell said of his 4-1 team after a game in which his offense could have put up 60 points against Dallas. “Man, it's like we're here together and I don't feel like people are pulling us away. Nobody gets out of this circle, men. And that’s exactly where you want to be right now.”

“This is a great win. You didn't let off the gas. This is one way to finish it.”

What started as a meme — Dan Campbell was the “dropping head, biting his kneecaps, snake oil salesman hired to save the Lions” cliché — has now become a model for what struggling franchises wanted they would look.

Now that the team is proving that last year wasn't a fluke, people are definitely starting to take notice.

“I have said it before I will say it again. As a Ravens fan, I can't help but love the energy of this team. You are great. I hope to see you in the Super Bowl! Lots of love,” one NFL fan wrote on Twitter.

“I would hire him for any leadership role in a heartbeat,” said another who watched Campbell’s postgame speech.

It's universal. Dan Campbell has caught the attention of America and they love the energy and positivity.

“I’m not a Lions fan, but I’m definitely rooting for them in the NFC this year. It's so cool to see that you've found a culture-changing coach. He's obviously very popular and doing well. Kudos to “You and your HC!” tweeted a self-proclaimed fan of the Jets and Jags.

The results of the Dan Campbell experiment speak for themselves

This morning on the cover of the Dallas Morning News, the sports section summed up Sunday with two words: “Humbling loss.”

With 12 minutes left in the 4th quarter and a 47-9 deficit, Mike McCarthy told Dak Prescott that his day was over. The poor guy had no chance against the Lions.

Cooper Rush was brought in and Jerry Jones celebrated his 82nd birthday by watching his $240 million QB sit on the sideline after going 17 of 33 for 178 yards and two INTs.

How well are Campbell and the kittens doing now?

Tom Brady is officially on the bandwagon.

“The culture of this team suggests that everyone is aware of it at the moment. The Lions are a tough team to beat,” Brady said on Fox’s postgame show.

Now comes Detroit's biggest challenge of the year. Can they go to Minnesota and beat Sam Darnold and the Vikings 5-0 to begin the road to victory in the brutal NFC North?

The Lions will be without stud defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, who suffered a broken tibia in Sunday's game.

But in true Detroit Lions fashion, the team and fans are already uniting behind a “Do it for Hutch” campaign that addresses the legend of “biting off the kneecaps” and other slogans that made Campbell and Detroit a team have America can commit to this.
