Cowboys WR Ceedee Lamb leaves game with serious injury

During the Dallas Cowboys' Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons, star wide receiver Ceedee Lamb left the game early due to injury.

According to the release, he has suffered a shoulder injury and is questionable about returning.

Lamb once again proved to be a key player for the Cowboys, recording eight receptions for 47 yards and two runs for 15 yards.

This wasn't the first injury the Cowboys had to deal with in this game, quarterback Dak Prescott also left the game early.

This is the latest in a long list of injuries that have affected the Dallas Cowboys this season, including wide receiver Brandin Cooks, running back Micah Parsons and defensive end Demarcus Lawrence.

Lamb has been a standout athlete since his debut at Oklahoma University.

In 2017, Lamb recorded 46 receptions for 807 yards and seven touchdowns in 14 games. He set school records for most yards and touchdowns by a freshman. He also set single-game freshman records for most receptions (nine), most receiving yards (147) and most receiving touchdowns (2).

In his second year, Lamb improved even more, catching 65 passes for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also served as a punt returner and recorded 17 returns for 218 yards, the most in the Big 12 Conference. Lamb was named second-team All-Big 12.

Lamb continued his collegiate dominance in his junior year, recording 62 receptions for 1,327 yards and a conference-high 14 touchdowns. He also led the conference with 21.4 yards per reception and 24 punt returns, which he returned for 179 yards.

In 2019, Lamb was named first-team All-Big 12 and was a consensus All-American. He then declared for the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Cowboys selected Lamb with the 17th overall pick in the first round. He was the third receiver selected behind Henry Ruggs and Jerry Jeudy.

Lamb immediately stood out in his rookie season with Dallas, recording 74 receptions for 935 yards and five touchdowns in 16 games. He ran 10 times for 82 yards and a touchdown. Lamb also recorded 24 punt returns for 172 yards and one kick return for a 47-yard touchdown.

In 2021, Lamb recorded his first 1,000-yard season, catching 79 passes for 1,102 yards and six touchdowns while rushing for 76 yards. Lamb also served as a punt returner for the final time in his NFL career, returning 14 punts for 139 yards.

Lamb was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time for his play, and he wasn't done yet.

Lamb somehow improved on his impressive sophomore season with an even more impressive 107 receptions for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022. He was again named to the Pro Bowl while also being named second-team All-Pro.

Last year, Lamb had his best season yet, leading the league with 135 receptions, including one for 92 yards. He also recorded 1,749 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. Lamb was named to the Pro Bowl for the third consecutive year and was first-team All-Pro.
