Cool and breezy end to the weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Highs reached the mid-70s yesterday and temperatures will be a few degrees cooler to close out the weekend.

Expect morning temperatures to be mostly in the 50s. It will be a bit chilly to kick off on Sunday, so bring the light to medium jacket! Highs won't really get much warmer today, only peaking in the mid to upper 60s. It will be even cooler later in the day thanks to a blustery northwesterly wind that could reach up to 30 miles per hour. An approaching cold front will bring a chance for a few showers late this afternoon and into the evening, but the day looks to be anything but a washout.

Persistent lake effect showers are possible late Sunday evening, and the chance of showers remains throughout the day on Monday. Clouds will persist into the start of the work week, with highs falling into the upper 50s. It will be a bit breezy to start the day on Monday, but the wind looks to die down in the afternoon.

Temperatures will peak by Wednesday, with some cool nights in store too! Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings can each bring the first frost of the season, but it all depends on how cold the temperatures get!

Today: Mostly cloudy, slightly ch. Rain; High 67; Wind W 15-25, G30-35

Tonight: Partly cloudy, cool; Low 44; Wind NW 10-15
