Colts running back won't play against Jaguars

INDIANAPOLIS – Colts running back Jonathan Taylor will not play Sunday against the Jaguars, coach Shane Steichen said Friday.

Taylor suffered an ankle sprain last week against the Steelers, but he doesn't believe it's as serious as the one that ultimately forced him to undergo surgery at the end of the 2022 season.

“He’s been working on it this week,” Steichen said. “That’s where it is at the moment.”

The Colts will use a running back by committee this week, splitting snaps between Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson.

Indianapolis also ruled out slot cornerback Kenny Moore II and defensive end Kwity Paye.

Quarterback Anthony Richardson could play on Sunday.
