Coleen Rooney tipped for I'm A Celeb 2024 as ITV 'signs biggest deal yet'

Coleen Rooney is “on board” to appear on the upcoming season of I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

The former TV star, 38, was previously best known for her relationship with former England player Wayne Rooney before becoming embroiled in the infamous Wagatha Christie saga and legal battle with fellow WAG star Rebekah Vardy a few years ago.

She has already made documentaries about the scandal, but Coleen will now fly to Australia next month to take part in the ITV reality series as a housemate.

It has been reported that Coleen has secured the biggest deal in the show's history, with her fee set to surpass Nigel Farage's £1.5million last year.

“I'm A Celeb bosses pulled off a major coup this year to get Coleen into the jungle and the team are thrilled to have her on board,” a source said.

“She has always been a huge fan of the series and loves watching it with her boys.” ITV is over the moon that the stars have aligned this year and that she is able to do it. The series may be one of the best ever.

“Coleen has a huge fan base and she received high praise for her first-class handling of the Wagatha Christie case.” “She's excited to show fans a different side of her and prove that she can survive without their comforts,” they added while speaking to The Sun.

They further shared that the campfire chats could be “bombshells” if she talked about the “drama of the Wagatha trial, her tumultuous marriage to Wayne and his football career”.

The source also said that Coleen is “expected to be very popular with viewers and she could triumph over Becky again if she goes further than her in the competition.”

ITV bosses are reportedly hoping Coleen will reveal details about her private life with husband Wayne, as well as her explosive row with Rebekah, who appeared on the show in 2017 but was sent to third place.

However, an ITV spokesperson said metro: “Any suggested names for I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” are just speculation.'

The news comes a few days after Rebekah was ordered to pay Rooney a further £100,000 after losing her High Court case against Rooney in 2022.

The case was sparked by Coleen accusing Rebekah of leaking her private information to the press on social media, which she was later ordered to pay 90% of Rooney's fee, with an initial payment of £800,000.

However, senior costs judge Andrew Gordon-Saker this week ordered Rebekah to pay a further £100,000 to Coleen within 21 days.

Last year, Coleen and Wayne released their first documentary series, Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, which followed the High Court battle on Disney Plus.

Last year, Coleen said although she had moved on, she accepted that the case would “always be discussed” and was “part of my life”.

In 2016, she revealed that she had regularly turned down offers to appear on reality TV shows, but was open to I'm A Celebrity.

“I get asked all the time, but I always say no.” “Reality shows like this are huge, they require a lot of people to participate, but I've never really felt like it,” she said.

“I'm more of a home bird – being away from the family for a long time would be hard.” A while ago I was asked in an interview whether I would ever take part in celebrity shows.

“It's not that I said I would do one, it was just a matter of which one I would choose if I had to.” It would be “I'm a Celebrity.” But I would probably never do a show.'

Other famous faces rumored to appear as housemates include Tommy Fury, Tulisa, Zara McDermott and Phillip Schofield.

I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! returns to ITV later this year.
