Coco Gauff vs Jessica Pegula: meeting in the WTA final, H2H statistics, doubles titles won together

Long-time doubles partners and off-court friends Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula will compete in their first WTA finals match of 2024 on Sunday. The two American stars will face each other as singles competitors for the sixth time as both look to go as far as possible in the final tournament of the season.

Gauff and Pegula last teamed up at the 2024 Paris Olympics, but now they face off against each other on the pitch, with a place in the semi-finals in Riyadh at stake.

How many titles have Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula won together?

Gauff and Pegula established themselves as real forces to be reckoned with on the court, winning five doubles titles in 2022 and 2023 and reaching number one and number two in the world rankings in WTA doubles. However, only one of them has won a Grand Slam with a partner.

At this year's French Open, Gauff teamed up with star Czech player Katerina Siniakova and together they stormed to the trophy, losing just one set. It was a wise decision by Gauff, who teamed up with the clinical winner to record an important milestone in her career.

Siniakova has won nine Grand Slam doubles titles in her career, seven of them with compatriot Barbora Krejcikova, who was included in the Orange group at the WTA Finals along with Gauff and Pegula.

The US duo have won a total of five doubles titles together on the WTA Tour. Most recently, they took place at the 2023 Miami Open, becoming the first all-American duo to win the doubles title in 22 years.

Gauff and Pegula have now decided to participate less in doubles tournaments together. After the victory at Roland-Garros, Gauff admitted that her goal was to “always win a double slam” and now she will “maybe play every now and then” and no longer according to the regular schedule that the fans expect have seen so far.

Gauff and Pegula met five times in singles, and they faced each other for the first time at the Dubai Tennis Championships in 2022. Pegula won the duel 6:4, 6:4. After their first meeting, the 30-year-old beat Gauff in Montreal, at the WTA Finals and most recently at the Berlin Open in June, which she then won.

Pegula leads her head-to-head series 4-1, including her straight-sets win at the 2023 WTA Finals. Gauff's victory came at the 2023 Rothesay Eastbourne International. In the semi-finals, the 20-year-old finally lost to his US colleague Madison Keys, who was able to secure the trophy.

Gauff is ahead of his two upcoming opponents when it comes to the title, having won eight singles and nine doubles so far. Pegula has won six singles titles and seven doubles titles.
