Club Brugge once again performed well in the Champions League. However, due to a red card for midfielder Raphael Onyedika five minutes before the end of the first half, the team lost 3-1 in Milan. Christian Pulisic's first-half goal came straight from a corner, although the club were more than equal to their opponents for most of the opening exchange. The team forced goalkeeper Mike Maignan to make several saves, while Ferran Jutgla and Christos Tzolis came close.

But Onyedika's tackle in the 40th minute was converted into a red card following a VAR review. Even though the team only had 10 men, they got back into the game. Joaquin Seys started at halftime after receiving a yellow card in the first half. His replacement, Kyriani Sabbe, was the scorer of the team's equalizer. After a successful move, Hugo Vetlesen finally put the ball in front of the right-back, who shot the ball into the goal.

But the man advantage began to have a greater impact. 10 minutes after the equalizer, Tijjani Reijnders increased the score to 2-1, the Dutch midfielder scoring his second goal in the 71st minute. This proved to be too much for Club and they suffered their second defeat of the competition. While defeats against AC Milan and Dortmund were to be expected from the start, the team performed well in both games and could have picked up at least one point.

Next up for the club in this year's competition is a home game against Aston Villa.
