Kansas City Chiefs veteran receiver DeAndre Hopkins appeared to have a shot at his former Tennessee Titans team with his touchdown celebration in Monday night's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, Hopkins took to social media to clarify that his “Remember the Titans” celebration was merely “a salute” to his former team and that he has “nothing but love” for Tennessee:

After six games this year, the Titans are traded Hopkins will trade to the Chiefs on Oct. 24 in exchange for a 2025 conditional fifth-round pick, which will upgrade to a fourth-rounder if the Chiefs advance to the Super Bowl and the wideout plays more than 60 percent of snaps on offense.

In just his second game in Kansas City on Monday against Tampa Bay, Hopkins showed how valuable he could be to star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, hauling in eight catches on nine targets for 86 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Chiefs to lead to victory with a 30:24 victory in overtime. The reigning Super Bowl champions remained the only undefeated team in the NFL at 8-0.

Hopkins is hoping to compete for his first career Super Bowl title, so he's undoubtedly motivated to help lead Kansas City to the first three-peat in modern NFL history.

The Chiefs will be back in action on Sunday with an AFC West matchup against the Denver Broncos.
