The Los Angeles Chargers experienced one of the strangest and scariest situations in Sunday's showdown against the Denver Broncos. At the start of the game, head coach Jim Harbaugh was seen running into the blue medical tent normally reserved for players.

After Harbaugh was examined by doctors, he was seen heading straight to the locker room. It was immediately declared questionable whether he could return with an “illness”. Now this illness was explained by the man himself.

Harbaugh spoke to reporters after the game and explained that he was dealing with “atrial flutter.” According to ESPN's Kris Rhim:

“Jim Harbaugh said he suffers from atrial flutter, a type of arrhythmia that causes the upper chambers of the heart to beat 250 to 350 times per minute. A push today was the reason he quit the game,” Rhim’s post reads.

Harbaugh apparently felt his heart go a little crazy and was immediately examined by doctors. The Chargers head coach even stated that he had felt this type of cardiac arrhythmia before when he was coaching the San Francisco 49ers.

Harbaugh declared, “2-0 with cardiac arrhythmia,” referring to the second time the issue occurred when he coached the 49ers.

In typical Harbaugh fashion, he joked, “I'm medically qualified to talk about this.”

The good news is that Harbaugh appears to be doing well after going through the scary heart issue. Harbaugh apparently received an EGK and immediate tests were conducted to determine if he was out of danger.

During the event, Jim's brother John Harbaugh (head coach of the Baltimore Ravens) was immediately pulled from a press conference. John wanted to inquire about his brother's health.

When Jim was fired from coaching, defensive coordinator Jesse Minter stepped in as the Chargers' interim coach. Minter and the team did their job as Los Angeles earned their third win of the season against the Broncos with a final score of 23-16.

The Chargers were in control the entire game and the defense caused all sorts of havoc for Broncos quarterback Bo Nix.

Despite experiencing such a harrowing incident, Harbaugh was able to return to the team to give his team another passionate victory speech.

With Harbaugh back and the Chargers getting healthy again, the team should gain a lot of confidence from Sunday's win. They face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7.
