“Celebrity Apprentice” runner-up Geraldo Rivera calls Trump an untrustworthy “sore loser” in supporting Harris

“The Celebrity Apprentice” runner-up Geraldo Rivera called his former series mentor Donald Trump a dishonest “poor loser” as he announced his support for Vice President Kamala Harris on X-Monday.

“Smart loser…Former President Donald Trump is a sore loser who cannot be trusted to respect the Constitution. That’s why I’m voting for Kamala Harris as our 47th president,” Rivera wrote in a lengthy X post detailing how close Harris and Trump are in the polls.

“With three weeks to go before Election Day, Donald J. Trump has a good chance of becoming the 47th President of the United States,” Rivera wrote. “Despite assassination attempts, impeachments, special prosecutors, felony convictions and hundreds of millions in civil penalties, most polls show his race against Vice President Kamala Harris is too close to call.”

Rivera, who appeared on Season 14 – also known as Season 7 – of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” then described his interactions with Trump after the reality series, saying the then-President initially told the former Fox host that he was a would accept defeat in 2020.

“When he first ran for president in 2016, he had just finished the final season of 'Celebrity Apprentice.' I sat in the front row as a finalist last season and marveled at his courage and storied past to seek the highest office in the land,” Rivera said. “Then, in the blink of an eye, he went from rookie to formidable challenger to victor over Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. As president, he was a loyal friend who granted regular access. Thanks to my resulting cover, he was able to dispel most of his doubts. His presidency was underestimated. During his first major scandal in office, the 2017-2019 (Robert) Mueller investigation into allegations that Trump conspired with Russia to undermine our political process, I stood by him as I opposed the constant attempts to undermine his administration “I was deeply suspicious of undermining.”

Rivera continued: “The last time President Trump and I spoke was Friday, November 13, 2020, when he called me at home. It was ten days after his narrow defeat against Joe Biden. He called to get my opinion on the controversies surrounding the election, which appeared to have been decided by a handful of votes in several states. I asked him what he would do if the vote count continued to go against him. When I reported on Fox News that same morning, Friday the 13th, he told me he was a sensible man and would do the right thing when the time came. That never happened.”

Rivera continued to reference Trump's involvement in the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, saying he was making a “liar” out of Republicans and recounting how he tried to convince his former running mate, Mike Pence, to go along with his coup plot the 2020 election will follow.

“Trump has stabbed the Constitution in the back,” Rivera said as he concluded his remarks before expressing his commitment to the Harris-Walz campaign.

“You may be inclined to vote for the former president anyway because he says he will cut your taxes, build the border wall, withdraw from NATO or impose tariffs on China. However, justifying your vote for Trump will make you a liar if you adopt his big lie about the stolen election,” Rivera concluded.
