Can I vote anywhere in Illinois? Find your Election Day polling location here – NBC Chicago

While millions of people in Illinois have already gathered to vote early for the 2024 election, others are waiting until Election Day to cast their ballots.

But depending on where you live, your polling place on Election Day may not be the same as an early voting location near you. And while some voters in the Chicago area were able to choose between different early voting locations to cast their ballot, voting locations on Election Day may be limited to a single polling place.

However, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections, mail-in ballots can be dropped off at any ballot drop box near you. You can find a ballot drop box here. These drop boxes are often located at polling stations and are subject to the polling station's opening hours.

In order for ballots to be properly counted, they must be cast before the polls close on Election Day or must be postmarked by the United States Post Office no later than Election Day.

Here's how to find out where your polling place is on Election Day in Illinois.

If you prefer to wait until Election Day to vote in Illinois, you may only be able to vote at one polling place.
