Jameis Winston made his first start on Sunday for the Cleveland Browns, who are looking to pull off an upset against the Baltimore Ravens, one of the NFL's best teams.

It was Winston's first start at quarterback since September 25, 2022, when he played with the New Orleans Saints. He has only appeared in a handful of games since then. But because of the Browns' struggles at quarterback following Deshaun Watson's season-ending injury, he was called up.

Before the game, cameras caught Winston giving a speech to his teammates.

“I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe. “Listen, eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, what the Lord has for the Cleveland Browns,” he said. “We don’t need to experience instant gratification. We don't have to experience something good happening for us. We have to believe in it.”

“We have to have this unwavering faith – and I have that. You get a chance. You get a chance. Make the most of it, man. And I believe in my crew. Who is with me?”

The Browns players were thrilled after the speech.

Cleveland faced a pivotal game with its season likely on the line. Normally 1-6 teams don't return to make the postseason, but doing so at 1-7 would be extremely difficult.

Watson suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon tear last week, right after the team traded Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills.

Cleveland still has a good enough defense led by Myles Garrett to put pressure on the quarterback. And when Nick Chubb gets going, the star running back has the ability to pack a punch in the backfield.
