Manchester City will look to bounce back from their first competitive defeat of the season and get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to the south coast to take on Bournemouth on Saturday (11 a.m. ET).

Pep Guardiola's side were eliminated by Tottenham in the League Cup round of 16 on Wednesday, ending a five-game winning streak and a 13-match unbeaten run at the start of the 2024/25 season. Unfortunately, the four-time defending PL champions are back at the top of the table after second and third-placed Liverpool and Arsenal played to a draw last weekend. But that doesn't mean it's been a flawless, dominant start, with Rodri set to miss the rest of the season with a torn cruciate ligament, Kevin De Bruyne out again and results closer than ever. City are undefeated in their last six PL games with 4 wins, 2 draws and 0 losses, but each win has come with a single goal, with the last multi-goal win coming on August 31st.

Bournemouth have had an incredibly difficult run of games of late, but Andoni Iraola will be delighted to pick up four points from back-to-back games against Arsenal and Aston Villa. At this point, a result against Man City would simply be the icing on the cake for the Cherries. Following the departure of Dominic Solanke in the summer, Bournemouth have had to strengthen their defense to achieve some difficult results, particularly at the start of the season when club record signing Evanilson (2 goals in 8 PL games) found his footing. In nine games they had done exactly that and had only conceded multiple goals in one game twice so far.
