BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Basketball announces its 57th season on Wednesday, hosting Oakland at ExtraMile Arena. Both teams reached the NCAA Tournament last season and Oakland is the first of nine 2024 NCAA Tournament teams on Boise State's schedule.

The Broncos enter the season as the Mountain West's preseason favorites, a first for the program as they received 19 of 26 first-place votes. Senior striker Tyson Degenhartnamed Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year, leads a trio of Broncos on the All-MW Preseason team, along with a forward O'Mar Stanley and guard Alvaro Cardenas. Boise State is scoring 44% of its points from last year, with Degenhart and Stanley combining for 87% of those points.
Boise State has won its last 12 non-conference home games and has a home record of 65-10 (.867) under head coach since the 2019-20 season Leon Rice. Last season, the Broncos went 7-0 at home against non-conference opponents, extending their winning streak at ExtraMile Arena that began in late November 2022.

Boise State, a program known for its defensive efficiency, posted a 13-1 record last season when it held opponents to 65 points or fewer, including eight non-conference opponents under that mark.

Last season, Boise State ranked 14th nationally in rebound margin (+7.5).

Tipoff against Oakland marks the Broncos' fourth straight season opener at home, where they hold a 2-1 record in their previous three games. Boise State is 33-23 all-time in season openers, including 10-4 under Rice.
