Blanket's latest appearance comes months after he initiated legal action against his grandmother, Katherine Jackson. Bigi's statement of claim sought to challenge the use of estate funds to support Katherine's litigation against the executors.

In documents received from PEOPLEBigi claims that Katherine Jackson is not allowed to use Michael Jackson's estate to fund her lawsuits against executors John Branca and John McClain. The dispute stems from an undisclosed recent transaction. The details remain a mystery, but it is speculated to involve the estate's extensive catalog sale to Sony, estimated at $600 million.

Bigi's legal representatives presented a compelling argument during the hearing, emphasizing that Katherine's appeal had little chance of success due to the lack of substantial evidence and legal merits. They emphasized that dedicating resources to the appeal would be imprudent, particularly when beneficiaries have chosen not to participate in the court process, indicating a lack of support.

Bigi therefore strongly opposes bearing the financial burden of his grandmother's legal disputes, prioritizing the efficient distribution of resources and the wishes of the beneficiaries. “It is clear that a reversal on appeal would be extremely challenging,” lawyers wrote on behalf of Bigi, according to the release. “Given these odds, Bigi has decided not to waste its resources engaging in an appeal process. Nonetheless, Katherine has decided to appeal this court's decision. This decision does not benefit the heirs.”

The prince's gallery featured pictures of all of his siblings, including Michael's youngest son, Prince Michael II. His little brother changed his name to Bigi in 2015 and remained largely out of the public eye. In 2002, Michael left him dangling over a balcony with a blanket over his head.

The statement of claim emphasizes that Bigi firmly believes that the court has a responsibility to intervene and determine a fair and reasonable amount. This consideration arises from the fact that beneficiaries who have chosen not to participate in the appeal should not bear the financial burden of funding. Bigi emphasizes the importance of avoiding possible injustices in the process. The filing further highlights that “Katherine's petition has the practical effect of forcing Bigi and his siblings to pay for her appeal.” It argues that it would be unfair to impose this burden on the beneficiaries who have expressly chosen to have one Appeal would not be in their best interests.
