Bears players meet with offensive coordinator over frustration

The Chicago Bears aren't waiting for their problems to get worse.

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, 40-year-old tight end Marcedes Lewis, position mate and starter Cole Kmet, and rookie starting quarterback Caleb Williams met with Bears offensive coordinator Shane Waldron to discuss the team's offensive woes early in the season.

“We’re not a Pop Warner team. You have to train us. Train me even though I'm in the 19th grade. Train Caleb even if he’s a rookie,” Lewis said at the meeting, according to Glazer.

At the beginning of the season, the Bears found it difficult to score points.

The team entered Sunday's home game against the Rams 1-2 and had only exceeded the 20-point mark once.

Bears punter Tory Taylor has already punted 15 times in the three contests.

Williams was limited offensively, completing 70 passes on 118 attempts, recording 630 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions.

The Bears' leading receiver, DJ Moore, had only 167 yards on 19 catches.

And the team wasn't particularly productive on the ground either, recording just 218 rushing yards on 72 carries.

Of note, running back D'Andre Swift had 68 rushing yards on 37 carries.

Chicago led Los Angeles 10-6 at halftime on Sunday despite having just 97 yards of offense.
