Autumn awaits us on Friday

REST OF TODAY: warm and windy with increased fire danger in the eastern plains. Winds from the south and southwest will continue to be breezy ahead of our next cool, which arrives on Friday.

TONIGHT: A steady breeze will develop overnight, with gusts of 15-25 mph from the southwest ahead of our next incoming system. Overnight lows in the 40s

MORNING: Warm and breezy once again with highs in the lower 70s for Colorado Springs and upper 70s for Pueblo in the Eastern Plains.

EXTENDED: There will still be quite a bit of fall chill on Friday and Saturday. There is likely to be wet snow in the high country and cold rain on I-25, with some areas possibly becoming a bit wintry

A WINTER STORM WATCH applies Friday afternoon through Sunday morning for elevations above 9,000 feet. Total snowfall: 10 and 20 inches, higher amounts possible locally. Wind gusts could reach up to 40 miles per hour.
