Popular Marathi actor Atul Parchure has passed away. He was 57.

Popular Marathi actor Atul Parchure has passed away. He was 57 years old. The cause of Atul Parchure's death is not yet known. The news of his death was reported by several Marathi news agencies including Esakal and Lokmat. Atul Parchure's family has yet to make a statement on his death.

The news of Atul's death comes a year after it was revealed that he was battling cancer. Last year, in an interview with a YouTube channel, as reported by India Today, Atul revealed that doctors had found a 5cm tumor in his liver last year.

“I had 25 years of marriage behind me. I was fine when we went to Australia and New Zealand. But after a few days I couldn't eat anything. I felt sick and knew something was wrong. My brother later gave me medication, but it didn't help. After seeing many doctors, I was asked to have an ultrasound scan. When the doctor did it, I saw fear in his eyes and felt like something was wrong. I was told that I had a tumor in my liver about 5 centimeters long and that it was cancerous. I asked him if I would recover or not and he said, “Yes, you will,” he said last year.

At the time, Atul added that he was misdiagnosed and had health problems afterward. “My first procedure after the diagnosis went wrong. My pancreas was affected and I started having problems. The wrong treatment actually made the condition worse. I couldn't even walk. I fumbled while talking. In this condition, the doctor asked me to wait for a month and a half. They said if they did the surgery I would have jaundice for years and my liver would be watery, otherwise I wouldn't survive. Later, I changed doctors and took proper medication and chemotherapy,” he said.

On Monday evening, October 14, Marathi actor Jaywant Wadkar reacted to Atul's death. Talking to ABP Mazha, the actor, who has known Atul since childhood, said that Atul was supposed to appear in the Marathi play 'Suryachi Pillay'. He added that they rehearsed together but Atul was hospitalized five days ago.

While he was popular in the Marathi film and theater industry, he was also known in the Bollywood film circles. He acted in films like Billu, Shah Rukh Khan's Salman Khan's Partner and Ajay Devgn's All The Best. He was also seen on The Kapil Sharma Show. The following scene remains a fan favorite.
