Aryna Sabalenka is once again the topic of conversation in the tennis city. And before you start guessing, it's not because of any of their exceptional performances on the pitch. In fact, it has to do with her elegant presence at the Wuhan Open Reception 2024. At the event, which was attended by over 50 players from the Wuhan Open, the 26-year-old was most in the spotlight thanks to her stunning looks.

The former world number 1 graced the party in a matching sleeveless top and classic trousers – complemented by a gold watch for the chic look. The player's confident expression undoubtedly made her look ready to go. While Sabalenka attracted the lion's share of attention, it would be wrong to say that her colleagues didn't have all eyes on her.

The variety of styles we saw at the Wuhan Open players' party is unlike anything we've seen before. The players didn't seem to stick to a theme – and their outfits ranged from formal apricot dresses to pajamas and shorts. The unusually stylish variety of players could not escape the attentive eyes of the fans. One of them wrote on Reddit: “You know it’s a WTA players’ party when there are 50 players there and no one looks like they’re going to the same event.”

Well, the fan's comment summed it up well. The players were all smiles during the party. Donna Vekic appeared in a black bomber jacket, while Jessica Pegula wore an elegant gray dress. Daria Kasatkina looked casually beautiful in an oversized gray denim T-shirt, while Leylah Fernandez looked cheerful in a black dress and denim jacket.

The players, including Sabalenka, are currently on duty in Wuhan. And the World No. 2 opportunity she has her eyes on is the one she's been waiting for.

The Wuhan Open returns to the WTA Tour after a five-year break. At the last edition in 2019, Aryna Sabalenka won the trophy after defeating Alison Riske 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. She was also the winner the year before. This year, the Belarusian, who begins her Wuhan Open journey tomorrow, has her sights set on more than just the championship.

With Iga SwiatekFollowing Sabalenka's withdrawal from the tournament, Sabalenka is the top seed and if she has a good run, she can close the gap on the Polish star in terms of ranking points. If Sabalenka wins the Wuhan Open title again this year, she would become the first player to win the title three times in Wuhan.

On the possibility of reaching the top, Sabalenka said: “Of course it's something I really want to do (become number one), it's one of my goals… But I've learned in the past that if you focus on the rankings and defending points and all that pressure, it can work out Concentration can easily go wrong. That's why I prefer to focus on myself and when I'm on the court I just try to give my best tennis and fight for every point. If I can show my best tennis, I know I can become number one in the world.”

Sabalenka is recovering from a quarter-final upset in Beijing. However, the player doesn't seem to bear any burden. Instead, based on her statements on Sunday, she appears poised to dominate again.
