Arkansas drops charity exhibition against TCU in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas – Brendan Wenzel sank a 3-pointer with 17 seconds left to give TCU a 66-65 come-from-behind victory against #16 Arkansas in a Friday night charity exhibition game played at Dickies Arena.

Only three TCU players scored in double figures. Big man Ernest Udeh Jr. finished the game with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Frankie Collins and Vasean Allette each scored 10 points.

Adou Thiero led Arkansas. The junior had 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Boogie Fland contributed 11 points.

Thanks to an 8-0 run by TCU to end the third quarter, the Razorbacks lost a 13-point lead. However, the Razorbacks maintained the lead throughout the fourth stanza until Wenzel's 3-pointer.

Arkansas didn't look good at the end of the game. Because the contest lasted four quarters and the teams only made free throws after the fifth foul of each quarter, TCU had only committed one foul but was able to commit three to run out the clock. After TCU's fourth foul of the quarter, there was just one second left for a last-second 3-point attempt.

Arkansas opens the regular season next Wednesday (November 6) against Lipscomb at Bud Walton Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on SEC Network Plus.

FIRST QUARTER:
• TCU scored first and Arkansas responded with a 3-pointer from Zvonimir Ivisic. There was one tie and six lead changes in the quarter.
• Adou Thiero scored 11 of the Razorbacks' 19 points in the quarter.

SECOND QUARTER
• Arkansas outscored TCU 20-11.
• Again, the game was back and forth with three draws and three lead changes.
• Trailing 32-31 with 2:52 left in the quarter, Arkansas closed the quarter with a 7-0 run. Karter Knox hit a 3-pointer to give Arkansas a 33-32 lead. Boogie Fland followed with a mid-range jumper and Knox capped the run with an elbow jumper.

THIRD QUARTER:
• Arkansas took its largest lead of the game, 54-41 (13 points) with 1:42 left.
• However, TCU outscored Arkansas 18-15 in the period, while the Horned Frogs finished the quarter 8-0;
