'American Idol' judges spotted with Ryan Seacrest in Nashville

play

The 2025 American Idol judges were spotted on Broadway in downtown Nashville on Wednesday. Ahead of the show's 23rd season, host Ryan Seacrest met with Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and the newest judge, Carrie Underwood, in Music City.

Given the Nashville roots of country music stars Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood, it's not all that surprising to see the singers in town.

And although the group was spotted outside Bryan's Nashville bar, Luke's 32 Bridge, it seems like the judges had a little more in store than just hanging out.

What were the American Idol judges doing in Nashville?

The judges were in town for closed auditions for the 2025 season of the show.

In an Instagram Story posted by iHeartRadio's The BIG 98, Seacrest, Bryan, Richie and Underwood were seen leaving Bryan's bar in Nashville and heading onto Broadway as a boom mic picked up the sound of the crew members all in black and the spectators cheered.

The stars waved to viewers before jumping into a car in the middle of the street that appeared to be Underwood's blue Ford Mustang convertible, which she won as a prize on “American Idol” in 2005.

Given the crew's presence on Broadway, it's not too far-fetched to believe that the “Idol” judges may have also been filming other promotional materials in town.

When does the new season of “American Idol” start?

The popular singing competition show is still in the audition process for the 2025 season. The show's “Last Chance Nationwide Open Call” will take place on November 13th.

The new season will begin sometime in spring 2025, but the date has not yet been set.

This summer, “Before He Cheats” singer Carrie Underwood confirmed that she would be replacing Katy Perry as a judge on the show's 23rd season.

Underwood's spot on the jury makes her the first former contestant to become an “Idol” judge.
