AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D now available for $479

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the world's fastest gaming CPU powered by 3D V-Cache, is now available for $479.

Gamers rejoice, the world's fastest gaming CPU is now officially available in the form of AMD's Ryzen 7 9800X3D for $479

It was a disappointing CPU launch cycle for the majority of players in the blue and red camps, but AMD was ready to unveil one of its best chips at the end. The launch of the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D showcased spectacular gaming performance and excellent efficiency in a single package. The CPU is now officially available at major retailers around the world and you can purchase it from the links below:

The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D “100-1000001084” is the first Zen 5-based CPU with 3D V-Cache technology. The CPU has 8 cores and 16 threads, which is similar to the previous generation Ryzen 7 offerings with a 3D V-cache. The CPU has a base clock of 4.7 GHz and a boost clock of 5.2 GHz, which is a solid +500 and +200 MHz increase over the 7800X3D, respectively.

The CPU has 32MB of L3 cache on the single CCD and a 64MB 3D V-cache stack located under the CCD. This is part of the second generation 3D V-Cache design, which now matches the size of the CCD and eliminates the need for structural silicon. This allows the CCD direct access to the cooler compared to the 3D V-cache stack, which is less thermally constrained. Another innovation in the 2nd generation 3D V-Cache CPUs is full support for overclocking while supporting the same TDP of 120W.

The best thing about the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, aside from its gaming performance and efficiency, is the fact that AM5 users can easily do a drop-in upgrade without having to replace motherboards or memory. Users who invested in the AM5 platform two years ago can easily upgrade without worrying about compatibility issues. You can also check out our review of the chip here.
